Siddharth film shoot from October 21

Veteran director K Raghavender Rao's son Prakash has earlier directed a film titled Belly Full of Dreams, which also won the National award. Now, the young director has decided to make a commercial film. Siddharth has been signed for the lead role. The regular shooting of the film would be commencing from October 21st. Mickey J Meyer composes music.

Kamal regrets for declining Quick Gun Murugan

Legendary actor Kamal Hassan regrets for declining the lead role in the film Quick Gun Murugan."I was initially offered the role. But I declined the offer as it was not a novel concept in South India. And I would rate the role in QGM as one of the biggest regrets of my life. I regret such situations as I could not make films that are close to his heart. Though some scripts are excellent they simply do not translate into a movie due to poor market demands. Over the years, I have liked many scripts but they just couldn't materialize into films. I feel sad that many times I couldn't do films due to market demands," finishes Kamal Hassan.

Rakta Charitra commence shoot Today

Ace director Ramgopal Varma's upcoming film Rakta Charitra is commencing shoot from Today, October 12th. The film is based on faction leader Paritala Ravi's life history. RGV has done lot of research for this film. He met the family members of Paritala Ravi, his followers and his arch rival Maddalcheruvu Suri. He guaranteed that the film based on the faction backdrop will have its realistic treatment. Vivek Oberoi portrays the role of Paritala Ravi and Surya is donning the role of Maddalcheruvu Suri in all the version(Hondi, Tamil and Telugu). Mohan Babu plays the role of Legendary NTR. Manisharma composes music for this film. Rakta Charitra is planned to be made in two parts. Both are parts are scheduled to release in the summer 2010, with just one week gap.

Swathi excited about film with Vikram

According to the sources, The film is set during the British Rule and will be shot in Ladakh, Mumbai and Pune. This movie is slated to release in the month of May, 2010.

It looks like the film ‘Village Lo Vinayakudu’ has scored enough success even before it has released. Village lo Vinayakudu movie is as small as its budget but BIG in idea. Budget is not compromising on the quality of the film to make it a complete laugh riot and a visual treat. As against Vinayakudu that was made in 2.4 crores, Village lo Vinayakudu, a Moonwater Pictures production, was shot in 1.39 crores. And the film is on the anvil of becoming the lowest budget movie of the year. The film’s Audio CD, retailed at Rs.9.98, is the lowest in the Tollywood film history, and is also the single largest selling album of the year. Ask producer Mahi on this, he ascribes it to synergizing and collaborating with various corporates like Reliance, Kalamandir, Future Generali, etc., to bring in an organized effort in marketing the film. Big B fans celebrate his 67th birthday

MUMBAI - Fans of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 67th birthday here on Sunday.

They gathered outside his residence ‘Pratiksha’ and prayed for his happiness and future success.

Bachchan celebrated on the eve of his birthday by attending a promotion of his ensuing movie ‘Rann’.

The movie ‘Rann’ deals with the prevailing ethos in the world of journalism.

It has taken its inspiration from the bourgeoning Indian media and has delved in various issues involving journalistic integrity, dilemma and professional ethics confronting the business aspect of a media house.

Despite the critical projection of the fourth estate, Bachchan said that he has deep respect for the ideal journalism, which happens to be the ‘eyes and ears of the nation’.

“But within the way the media functions, there can be developed a story which can have great human value. The media is the conscience of the nation. What the film deals with is that it’s also a business.

Do we compromise conscience for our business? Do we compromise our business for our conscience? I think the gap between these two extremities is what this film tries to portray. In the end, we will see that who is going to be victorious and who is going to be defeated,” he said.

In the film, he plays role of a hardcore professional journalist, who runs a private TV news channel.

Bachchan added the artiste within him continues to aspire for diverse and demanding roles.

Further, he was all praise for Ram Gopal Verma, the director of the film for venturing into realistic films like ‘Satya’, ‘Company’ and ‘Sarkar’.

The actor in a span of his 40 years career in the film industry has performed some brilliant roles.

Bachchan once again came face to face with these very characters played in movies like ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Coolie’, ‘Shahanshah’, ‘Namak Halal’, which were portrayed through dummies. (ANI)
