Kamal adopts 1000 kids

Kamal Haasan started a campaign to aid the children who are affected with AIDS today. December 1st being the World AIDS Day, the actor has adopted 1000 children who are HIV positive and has set an example for others. The actor has called the public to support these innocent souls, who are not responsible for this condition.

To mark the World AIDS day Hello FM and Population Service International, a NGO has organised a month long event and awareness programs. The public will be requested to help these kids who are in desperate need of love and support.

Speaking on the occasion Kamal Haasan said, Children are our future. Sadly few of them are depressed with hopelessness. Giving happiness and peace to them is our responsibility. I am very much satisfied to lead this awareness campaign and am hoping that many will come up to help these children. There are many others with good heart and have enough money, I am positive that these people will come in front to support these kids. I heartily thank PSI and Hello FM to have arranged this camp.

Namitha rejects 14 movies!

Namitha’s fans must feel crushed to know that 14 opportunities to ogle at their dream girl went by since she rejected them all! But she has a very sound reason to back her decisions. “I have made up my mind to be very choosy and wary of what roles I take up. In the past, I have been very gullible and hence ended up doing only song numbers in movies where I had actually been promised meaty roles. Once I signed a project where I was supposed to play a detective, and was told to do a dance number like I was in disguise for an investigation. But after the song was shot, they told me that my character had been cut because it was digressing from the main story. Hence once again I had done just one song in a movie. Similar things have happened way too often. And now, after the success of Jagan Mohini, I am determined to do proper roles, not just glam ones. I don’t mind double heroine subjects so long as my part is equally important. In the last four months I have rejected at least 14 offers, because they had no substance,” says a very emotional Namitha. Let’s hope 2010 will give her the image makeover she yearns for.

Jr NTR in ‘Simha Dhwani’?

10 years before for NBK’s movie ’Samarasimha Reddy’, they first kept as ’Simha Dhwani’ but changed. Now Welfare creations banner is planning a film with NTR.Jr and they are considering the title Simha Dhwani for this film. Hansika is going to star as heroine in this movie when contacted her she demanded abnormally but Producer decided not to compromise in selecting the star cast.

Producer blasts Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna landed in a controversy. The makers of Nagarjuna's upcoming film Kedi held a pressmeet at the Novotel to announce the title on Yesterday, November 30th. Nag's comments in the pressmeet sparked a controversy. "Though we have considered Rummy title for this film, we called it off later. Someone had registered the title Rummy after the rumors have come out that my film title might be that. They also demanded Rs.12 lakhs to give the title for us. Some people are registering the titles of big movies and blackmailing," said Nagarjuna. The producer Mr.Surendra, who registered Rummy title at film chamber came down heavily on Nagarjuna for making such comments on him. "Rummy title was registered a year back on Inek Colors banner. Sivaji has been roped as hero. The project delayed as director Sarath Chandra died in a accident, even before commencing shoot. We had spent Rs.25 lakhs on this film in the form of advances to the artists and technicians. We are planning to make this film with another director," said Surendra, Rummy producer. "Somebody from Kamakshi Kala Movies banner approached us and offered Rs.1 lakh to give Rummy title to them. We rejected the offer as we have decided to do a film with Rummy as title. After that, no one from that banner approached us. We were surprised when Nagarjuna said that we asked for Rs.12 lakhs to give the title to them. I'm a director of a software company and I own two software companies in USA. We have not entered into film production to make money by selling titles. It sounds silly when a person like Nagarjuna making allegations without knowing the facts," he added.

Sivaji’s ‘Tajmahal’ releases in December

Actor Sivaji’s first film as a producer and Romantic entertainer ‘Taj Mahal’received the clean ‘U’ certificate.This is a remake of the Kannada superhit.The film was initially set to release in the last week of November, but then it was postponed. Now, news is that the film might be released in the second week of December.Hero Sivaji has also played the lead role and shared screen with the new comer Sruthi.Sivaji is producing the film in ‘Sri Sivaji Productions’ banner. Abhiyan has composed the music for this film.Directed by the debutant Arun Singaraju, an USA based NRI.

Rama Rama Krishna Krishna movie to release in March

Young and handsome star Ram is quite popular after hits like ‘Ready’ and ‘Maska’.Ram’s latest movie Rama Rama Krishna Krishna will release in the month of March.Director Srivas of ‘Lakshyam’ fame directing this big budget film to be produced by ‘Dil’ Raju on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.It has a village backdrop and most f the film was shot in the lustre locations of Rajahmundry. A part of the movie is going to have Mumbai backdrop and the unit is going to Mumbai to shoot it now.

Mahesh Babu Mr. Perfect shooting from June

Mahesh Babu-Surender Reddy film Mr. Perfect will commence in the month of June. Mahesh Babu is planning to do two films a year from now. The film is said to be big budgeted extravaganza which is planned with a woofing amount of Rs.40 crores. Meanwhile, Mahesh-Srinu Vytla film shooting will commence from January. Mahesh Babu upcoming film Khiladi in the direction of Trivikram is nearing completion. Anushka plays the female lead opposite Mahesh.

Manchu Vishnu-Ileana starrer film Saleem is all set create new records. Saleem is going to release in 35 theaters in Maharashtra and 5 theaters in Delhi. For the first time a Telugu film will be screened in such number of theaters in North India. Saleem is being directed by Y V S Chowdary. Mohan Babu plays a pivotal role in the film. Kaveri Jha has been casted as second female lead. Music of the film is by Sandeep Chowta. This film is produced by Lakshmi Prasanna under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures. Saleem is the big budgeted film in the banner of Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, which is made with a woofing amount of Rs.23 crores. Vishnu has gone for a complete makeover for Saleem. This film will be a come back film for YVS Chowdary, as his previous film Okkamagadu proved to be a disaster. Saleem is scheduled to release on December 11th.

Nagarjuna's upcoming film is titled as Kedi. Though the film unit has earlier considered titles like Rummy, Mayagadu and Mosagadu finally they have choosen Kedi. Actress-turned-politician Roja's Husband and Secretary of South Indian film Director Association, Mr. RK Selvamani inaugurated a beauty salon called Studio Essentials along with daughter Anshu Mallika in Nungambakkam, Chennai on November 30th. Incidentally, the children's section is launched by his daughter. Studio Essentials is a unisex salon said to offer services which include Body Treatment, Skin Treatment and Hair Treatment.
