Michael Jackson desired to work with me : A.R.Rahman

Oscar winning music composer A.R.Rahman in a recent interview revealed that Pop king Michael Jackson desired to work with him. Rahman also showered praises on the world's greatest entertainer and perhaps its most enigmatic figure. "Micheal Jackson is amazing and undoubtedly the last King of Pop. He was a great human being. He called me just a couple of months before his demise, expressing an interest in working with me, but unfortunately that was not to be," said A.R.Rahman.

Ram Charan decides not to celebrate Diwali

Ram Charan, who is riding high after the success of Magadheera has desided not to celebrate Diwali this year. One reason for his decision is said to be the flood fury in the state which claimed many lives. "I am so devastated by the loss of people and property in the recent floods, that I don't want to celebrate Diwali this year. But I wish everyone a happy and prosperous Diwali. As a child I used to be fascinated with crackers, but over a period of time I have lost interest in them, and never burst them as they cause sound pollution. Festivals are a great reason for family to get together and have some good food," said Ram Charan.

Balakrishna’s Simha for Sankranthi

Chakri is scoring music “Simha” is in brisk progress. Currently, the film unit is engaged in shooting songs in Ramoji Film City. In this regard, huge sets have been erected in the supervision of art director A S Prakash. Movie makers are planning to complete the movie and release in January 2010 as Sankrathi gift to Telugu audience. Balakrishna will be romancing Namitha and Sneha Ullal in the movie. Ghatikudu Movie Review

Movie : Ghatikudu Rating: 2.5/5 Cast : Suriya, Nayantara, Ramesh Kanna, Saroja Devi, Vadivelu and others Directed by : K.S.Ravikumar Produced by : Chandana Ramesh Banner : Red Giant Movies Music : Harris Jayaraj Release Date : 2009-10-17 Surya's much awaited film Ghatikudu is just an another commercial potboiler. Story: Ashok(Surya) is a contract killer, who never misses his target. He accepts a contract from Abdul (Mukul Dev) to kill a judge. But he misses the target this time.He promises Abdul that he will kill the judge within 10 days. Some how he enters into the judge house. There he happens to meet Tara(Nayantara). Both of them falls in love. But, Ashok never gives up his mission to kill the judge. Does he succeeds in killing the judge or not forms the rest of the story. Performance: Surya excels in his role. He will be seen for the first time in a role with negative shades. Surya in a portion of the movie appears as a 10-year old. His stunts, dialogue delivery, dances and comedy are perfect. He is one of the finest actors in the country. Nayantara looks fresh in the film. It would have been much better if the director could have tried to avoid her close-up shots. Veteran actress Saroja Devi is back into films after a gap of 12 years. She did justice to her role. Bharath Murali as a judge is impressive. Vadivelu comedy track raises few laughs. Sayaji Shinde and Rahul Dev did a neat job. Plus Points: Surya's screen presence Bharath Murali Production Values Minus Points: Direction Second-half Technical Departments: Music by Harris Jayaraj is good, but not the best from him. Production values of the film are grand. Direction by KS Ravi Kumar is not up to mark. Though presenting Surya as a 10-year old and 4 feet tall boy is something new, it was not executed well. Cinematography is just ordinary. Analysis: The film starts on a promising note but fails to carry it till the end. The first half of the film is okay. The second half tests your patience with predictable scenes and weak climax. Verdict: Watch it if you are one among Surya's fans. Otherwise stay away from it.

Blue Movie Review (Hindi)

More so because "Blue" is an action film, that too set underwater, which is not just a first in Bollywood but also a rarity in Hollywood. So does "Blue" set new standards for Bollywood action movies? Does it actually get into the underbelly of the sea and show a world hitherto unexplored? The answer is yes. Let's put it this way - "Blue" may not be the mind-blowing commercial action thriller that you would have ever seen. However, it certainly is the most innovative attempt that deserves to be acknowledged and lauded. Action is truly the USP of the film and keeps the momentum going for "Blue" due to which one doesn't quite miss the presence of a solid storyline. From first till the last frame, it's the amalgamation of action and an unknown world (under the sea) which brings in a novelty factor. For those hunting for a storyline, "Blue" actually begins and ends at the basic synopsis level. Mr. Richie Rich Akshay Kumar wants a treasure to be explored and entices his employee and friend Sanjay Dutt with tempting offers. Dutt is reluctant to take that dive into the sea even though his girlfriend Lara Dutta and brother Zayed Khan do present him enough reasons to take the plunge. Eventually he relents and the journey of "Blue" begins. Simple. There are five key action sequences that keep the pace up for the film. Each of the three bike sequences featuring Zayed become better and better and in fact his introduction a la 'Fast and the Furious' is something unique for an Indian film. The boxing ring sequence featuring Sanjay and Akshay does hint of "Broken Arrow", though it works in establishing their characters. Most importantly, the entire underwater hunt sequence is a breathtaking affair. Anthony D'Souza has a strong eye for visuals and that shows. Technically, whether it is camerawork or sound, "Blue" bears an international feel. Whether it's Sanjay or Akshay, the revelation about their past isn't quite hammer strong, even though convincing. Moreover, even though the film is a multi starrer, one does expect Akshay to be on the forefront. However, for a change, a film featuring him does allow equal screen space for other actors as well. As for Lara and Katrina Kaif, their presence is required to make the film look good and in that aspect, they do well. In a nutshell, "Blue" is made for those who want pulsating action, innovative stunts, glamour and some unbelievable moments that defy logic. It mainly caters to the youth that just want some non stop action in those two hours while keeping James Bond movies in mind. The kind of films where bikes are meant to race through traffic, cars are meant to explode, women are meant to bring on a glamour quotient, villains are meant to be suave, action is meant to belong to never-seen-before variety and technical aspects are meant to be superior to the best.

'Bendu Appa Rao RMP' Review: Nonstop Humor

EVV Satyanaranaya’s style has got its unique image in Tollywood. ‘Bendu Apparao’ released today on the banner of Suresh Productions; and let us see how far EVV touched his mark.

Story: Bendu Appa Rao (Allari Naresh) is an RMP doctor in a village. He has a sister who gets troubled by her greedy husband (Krishna Bhagawan). Appa Rao earns money from the villagers by doing various mischief activities, making them his patients for every small reason. He earns money only to quench the greed of his brother in law. On the other hand, Padmapriya (Kamna), the daughter of the rich man in the village Raju (Ahuti Prasad) falls in love with Appa Rao.

The story runs on this track but all of a sudden Appa Rao becomes responsible for a secret sum of Rs 15 lakh. Story takes turn there. A school teacher comes into his life.

What is that Rs 15 lakh? How Appa Rao become responsible? Who is that teacher? All that has to be watched on screen.

Performances: Allari Naresh: He is at his best as usual. The entire story runs on his shoulders and he carried that efficiently. Once again he proved that he is the best fit as comedy hero in Tollywood after Rajendra Prasad and Naresh.

Kamna: She is ok and suited well for the character.

Meghana: She has a small role as school teacher but oozed the required glamour in a song.

Ahuti Prasad: He deserves right mention in the film as he spilled several laughs with his typical East Godavari slang

Other artistes Jith Mohan Mitra, LB Sri Ram, Suman Shetty, Uttej, Srinivas Reddy, Kondavalasa, Chalapathi Rao, Telangana Shakuntala, Sreepada Hanuma Sastry etc have justified to their characters.

The backbone of the movie is its dialogue part. Veligonda Sreenivas has penned subtle and humorous dialogues through out the movie. Every 5 minutes in the movie spills a laugh. Although the story is a routine one, the dialogue part made it appealing for contemporary audience.

Disappointments: Allari Naresh’s snake dance is over dosed

Analysis: It’s a nonstop humor treat after a long time. Audiences of all the centers may patronize this film and there will be more edge in B, C centers. The entire movie is filled with East Godavari flavor where almost all top comedians except Brahmanandam, MS Narayana and Sunil are present on screen.

First half of the movie goes with non stop humor while second half has enough sentiment. But in both halves, the comedy part is rightly gelled.

If publicity supports the movie, it may celebrate festival at Box Office.
